Sophia is an undergraduate researcher in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at NYU Tandon. She is interested in using chemical engineering concepts to build more resilient urban ecosystems. As a member of the Gowanus Canal Mesocosm team, she monitors biofilm growth and activity in the hopes of better understanding bioremediation processes.
